Thunderstorms central France & Germany

Monday
Hot and sunny in Spain and Portugal, highs 34 to 38C south, but nearer 25C for north-western Iberia. Hot weather extends across southern & eastern Europe, as high pressure centred toward the Black Sea produces a southerly airflow. Lots of sunshine and temperatures widely into the mid-30s Celsius from Italy to Greece and Poland, also Romania and Ukraine.
A frontal zone across central Europe produces thunderstorms for central & south-western France, also the western Alps and central Germany, breaking out increasingly later. Fresher for north-western Europe, 23C in the Low Countries.
Low pressure brings rain to west & central Norway, also northern Sweden and Finland. Passing showers for Denmark. Dry but breezy for southern Sweden, 25C on the Baltic coast. A cluster of thunderstorms passes east across northern Poland and the Baltic states.

Tuesday
Hot and dry again across south & eastern Europe. Lots of sunshine for Spain. Breezy in Portugal. Widespread hot sunshine across the Mediterranean - approaching 40C in central Italy and the Balkans. Less hot for Greece , but staying dry. A north-easterly breeze for the Aegean Sea. High pressure parked over eastern Europe brings extensive dry weather to Romania, Hungary, Ukraine and much of Poland. A frontal system across central Europe brings a risk of severe thunderstorms developing for Germany, also clipping northern Poland and spreading into the Baltic states. Scattered thunderstorms for central France and the western Alps. North-western Europe stays fresher, but with plenty of sunshine around the English Channel and North Sea. Areas of rain for the north & west of Scandinavia, but dry in central Sweden and southern Finland.
