Bright south & east
Rain northwest Scotland

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 30th December 2016
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Chilly south, best sun in east, rain in far northwest of Scotland

Good morning,

A cold start to the morning across central and southern England and Wales. There will be fog patches, but these clearing. Bright or sunny spells developing, the best of these in more eastern and southern areas. Breezier further north with rain across the far north of Scotland.

Western coasts of England, Wales and Scotland as well as the north and west of Ireland may have low cloud drifting off the sea giving some spots of drizzle on the hills. Remaining dry elsewhere through this afternoon with the best of the sunshine in southern and eastern areas. Cold again in the south and east of England but milder to the north.

Another chilly night to come with a frost in central and southern areas, together with a few fog patches. Breezier further north and mostly dry. Soe drizzle in the west with cloud and more persistent rain continuing in northern and western Scotland as well as northern and western Ireland.
