Windy with severe gales, frequent snow showers in north and west

Good morning,

All change today as a cold front sweeps east this morning taking squally winds and rain with it. Following will be a spell of brighter, winder weather but you will notice it feeling increasingly chilly as the brighter weather moves in.

Across Scotland and Northern Ireland there will be severe gales with gusts to 60mph in places. Frequent showers showers blowing in here on the wind and these will lead to a covering of snow for many with blizzard conditions at times.

The snow showers spread suth tonight affecting Scotland, northwest England and Ireland as well as parts of Wales and perhaps the western Midlands. Feeling bitterly cold in the wind.
