Cool and damp northern England, Wales and eastern Ireland but bright, warmer south whilst Scotland is dry

Good morning,

A cool and cloudy day ahead for much of northern England, the northern Midlands and Wales as a band of showery rain settled across the area. The rain tending to be light this afternoon after heaving been heavy and thundery at times this morning. Brighter in the south of England and warmer here as a result, but this allows for some showers to develop close to the coasts this afternoon. Mainly dry in Scotland with broken cloud, but some good spells of sunshine to come too. A brisk east wind making eastern coasts feel cool.

Ireland starts dry but always cloudier to the east where rain will slip in during the coude of the afternoon. Always brighter to the west with sunny spells here.
