Morning Call - August 05, 2017
Heavy showers passing east
Breezy southern coasts

Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 5th August 2017
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Local thunderstorms, mainly east in afternoon

Good morning,

A westerly flow influences the British Isles, with low pressure centred over Scandinavia and high pressure to the south-west near the Azores.

Areas of showers will pass from west to east across central England & Wales, some heavy and thundery bursts moving across eastern England then out in the North Sea by evening. Showers too for Scotland.

The far south and south-west should escape largely dry, but there will be a fresh breeze here. Northern England is also likely to also stay dry, although showers may break out in the north-east later.

Today's top temperatures will be 17 to 22C, warmest in the south-east.

Have a great day.
Garry
