Morning Call - August 23, 2017
Rain north & east
Brighter west & south

Issued: 0530hrs Wednesday 23rd August 2017
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Rain north & east this morning clearing slowly, drier and brighter western and southern areas

Good morning,

As a front crosses the country this morning so it will be a wet start to the day in much of Scotland and northern England. The front bringing showery bursts of rain, some of them heavy in these areas. It is clearing to the east slowly, although ot make until late this afternoon to clear eastern Scotland and northeast England, but which time there will have been a risk of some localised flooding.

Brighter and drier weather will be following from the west, and it should be that southern England stays dry throughout the day. There is a chance of an odd shower in Ireland this afternoon, but for most it should be dry with some sunny spells.

Tonight is mostly dry with some clear spells for many. There is a low risk of shower affecting western coasts and hills.
