Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

A cloudier and fresher day but mostly dry in the south, showers and breezy to the north

Good morning,

After the fine weather for many yesterday this morning is starting on a cloudier note. There is some drizzle affecting western coasts and hills, but this should fade as the morning progresses. There will still be sunshine across central and eastern England at first this morning, but the cloud increasing here through the morning although staying dry.

This afternoon sees broken cloud for much of England and Wales and feeling fresher as the westerly wind picks up. Showers following into western Scotland and western Ireland with these showers heavy at times.

Most;y dry overnight although cloud is again going to be thick in Ireland and western Scotland with the threat of some spots of drizzle here.
