Morning Call - May 11, 2017
Showers in south
Dry to north

Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 11th May 2017
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Some showers to the south but tending to be dry to the north

Good morning,

Times they are a changing! Okay, I'll promise not to sing as it may bring more rain (but that's what many of you want, I know; the rain, not my singing!). However, the weather is changing and today marks the start of that.

Pressure has now fallen and we are looking at some showery outbreaks of rain passing north through southern England, Wales and southern Ireland this morning, although it's worth noting many areas will be staying dry. The risk of showery rain edging into the Midlands and then northern England later, before heavier showery rain arrives in the evening across southern England.

Northern Scotland may have some patchy rain at first, but this fades. Most northern areas then are going to be dry with some sunny spells although cloud increasing in the afternoon.
