Soggy south-east
Dry north & west

Risk of local flooding

Good morning,

Low pressure is situated over the North Sea today, whilst a ridge of high pressure extends from the Azores toward Ireland and Scotland.

Fronts pivot slowly across central & south-eastern England, bringing persistent and heavy rain, which will tend to drift southwards through the day. Prolonged falls are likely for parts of East Anglia and the far south-east, where 20-40mm or locally more may fall during today - a risk of surface water flooding.

Across west & northern Britain, and also Ireland, it will be a largely dry and bright day with good spells of sunshine. Strong northerly winds will make it feel rather cool, near-gale force on North Sea coasts.

Today's temperatures will be just 13 to 15C where rain persists, reaching 17 to 19C in the west, locally warmer in sheltered spots of north-west England & south-west Scotland.

Have a great day.
Garry
