Morning Call - March 04, 2018
Still Cold
Unsettled

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 4th March 2018
Duty forecaster: Matthew Hugo

Still cold, especially in the north and predominantly unsettled

Good morning,

It's a cold start to Sunday especially across more northern areas of the British Isles with frost and icy conditions. It is also an unsettled start too with some rain and showers, along with sleet and snow steadily moving northwards, the snow primarily across parts of N England and Scotland.

Through the afternoon and not a great deal of change is forecast with a further awkward mix of rain, sleet and snow, the snow still primarily across higher ground of N England and Scotland where some accumulations are possible. Perhaps drier and brighter across central and southern areas of England and Wales for a time, with a thaw of lying snow, but with perhaps some showers arriving later.

Into Sunday night and not a great deal of change is expected with low pressure maintaining unsettled conditions and with some rain, sleet and snow in places, the snow still primarily across northern areas of the British Isles. Overnight frost and icy conditions remain possible beneath any clearer intervals.
