Morning Call - June 22, 2017
Thundery showers
Lots of cloud

Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 22nd June 2017
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Thundery showers in the south, plenty of cloud with some drizzle in the west

Good morning,

It's another very warm start to the day across the eastern Midlands, East Anglia and southeast. Much fresher to the north and west though and this fresher weather is going to be sliping eastwards during the day.

However, nothing is every straightforward is it? The arrival of that fresher weather is heralded by some thunderstorms. It looks likely that this pass through the southern and eastern Midlands early this morning, before then crossing East Anglia and the southeast by midday. Some of them may be locally heavy.

Elsewhere it's a day with plenty of cloud. There will be some drizzle affecting western coasts and hills but most other areas should be mostly dry although some thunderstorms could break out again around the Wash, east Midlands and East Anglia. More persistent rain moves into northwest Ireland and western Scotland later.
