Morning Call - August 03, 2017
Windy & showery
Drier to south

Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 3rd August 2017
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

A windy day with heavy showers in Scotland and Ireland

Good morning,

Low pressure is centred over Scotland today and this is going to be bringing strong winds to all of us. In fact, the winds may be to gale force in the west and along southern coasts too.

Showers will be associated with the low pressure area and these will be heavy at times in Scotland and Northern Ireland as well as parts of northwest England. The showers could merge into longer spells of rain at times.

Further south there will be less showers and many areas stay dry throughout the day, although still windy. Sunny spells affect many areas throughout the day.
