Low pressure north of Scotland brings a mixed day across the UK and Ireland. There will be showers affecting western coasts and hills, these wintry at times. More central and eastern areas should be drier with sunny spells although feeling cold for all. Windier along southern coasts of England with more frequent showers here. Highs at 3 to 7C.
 


Thursday Night
Chilly overnight. The winds turning in the northwest and remaining strong over Scotland, western England, Wales and Ireland. Lighter winds in the east. Showers affecting the coasts of Scotland and western England as well as western Wales. Drier elsewhere. Lows at 0 to 3C.
 


Friday
Low pressure is to the east of the UK on Friday with higher pressure west of Ireland. The northwest wind brings a mix of sunshine and showers. Most of the showers around coasts and hills. Drier inland with some sunny spells but feeling cold. Little change is expected through the day. Highs at 1 to 5C.
 


Saturday
Northwesterly winds are likely to continue, bringing frequent snow to eastern coastal districts, plus northern Scotland. A few bands of showers may also affect some Irish sea coasts, perhaps running into north Wales and the northwest Midlands. Pressure is likely to build toward the west as the day progresses. Feeling bitterly cold in the wind. Frosty where sheltered. Highs 1 to 4C.
