Friday
An unsettled day with longer spells of rain slow moving across more northern and eastern areas of the UK, especially across Scotland and parts of N England, perhaps turning to sleet or snow on high ground later. Very windy here too. Winds not as strong further south and west, with some sunny spells, but scattered showers are likely with local downpours, especially across Wales and SW England. Highs 4C to 11C, highest in the south-west, lowest in the north-east.


Friday Night
Remaining unsettled into Friday night with rain, sleet and hill snow in the north and east slow moving south and west through the night. Showery weather initially across south-western areas clearing away and most areas, by the end of the night , becoming drier. Cold, especially so in the north and east given a fresh or strong SE'ly wind. Lows -1C to 4C.
 


Saturday
Cold or very cold for all areas in association with fresh or strong SE'ly winds bringing a marked wind-chill factor. Some initial rain, sleet and snow across south-western areas clearing away and then plenty of fine weather across the north, but with snow showers developing across more southern and eastern areas of England. Highs 1C to 4C, widespread harsh frost.
 


Sunday
Plenty of fine weather across more northern areas of the British Isles with plenty of sunshine too but after a very cold start. Cloudier across more southern and eastern areas of England with overnight snow flurries set to continue, at least for a time, through the day bringing some local accumulations, but these showers easing later in the day. All areas remaining cold with a fresh or strong E'ly wind bringing a marked wind-chill factor still across England and Wales, winds lighter further north. Highs 1C to 5C.
