A strong south-westerly wind across Britain & Ireland throughout the day. This brings a lot of low cloud, and persistent rain or drizzle to western areas. Heaviest falls over the hills of Scotland, Cumbria and Snowdonia. Murky toward the south-west, with coastal fog. Brighter skies for east & north-eastern areas, but rare if any sun. Blustery winds, gusty to the lee of high ground. Highs 14 to 17C west, 16 to 20C in the east.

Friday night
A very humid atmosphere results in extensive low cloud and murk across much of the country, with drizzly rain for western coasts and hills. Some persistent falls of rain for north-west England, Northern Ireland and south-west Scotland. Largely dry and just a little drizzle elsewhere. A south to south-westerly breeze, strongest in the west. Staying very mild, lows 12 to 15C, but locally much lower in northern Scotland, perhaps 5C some glens.

Saturday
A murky start for many places. Extensive hill fog in the west & north. Coastal fog south-west. Brighter skies developing only slowly. Any sunshine likely confined to the east & south-east. Dull skies persist in the west, with outbreaks of rain or drizzle for western Scotland, Northern Ireland & north-west England. A southerly breeze, strongest around western coasts. Humid, 14 to 17C north-west, up to 19 to 21C in central, east & southern England.

Sunday
A dry and very warm day. Early mist and low cloud will break to give increasing amounts of sunshine, although staying quite hazy. Murky conditions and possible fog may linger around south-western coasts. A slow-moving front brings rain to north-west Scotland and the far west of Ireland. A moderate southerly breeze. Temperatures 16 to 19C north & west, but cooler far north-west. 21 to 23C in central & south-east England.
