Mixed and staying cool although not much rain

Temperatures will be lifting slowly through this week, although still remaining on the cool side. Conditions become more mixed. Rainfall amounts are likely to be low, just some heavier rain in western Scotland. Next week is set to stay mixed at first before becoming unsettled and cooler later.

Friday 23/3/18
Low pressure drifts to the north of Scotland on Friday. A cold front passing eastwards bringing rain, this clearing eastern coasts by early afternoon. Brighter weather follows from the west for most, although some showers forming. More persistent rain in western Scotland and Ireland, fading as the afternoon progresses. Feeling mild in the sunshine to the east. Highs cooler in the west at 7 or 8C but 12C in the sunnier east.

Saturday 24/3/18
Low pressure to the northwest of Scotland on Saturday. Showers affecting western Scotland and western Ireland, these extending into Wales and parts of the Midlands. Drier in the east with some bright spells here. Highs at 8 to 13C.


 
 
 

Sunday 25/3/18
Low pressure stays to the north of Scotland on Sunday. A ridge of high pressure builds into Ireland. There will be a fair amount of cloud but some bright spells too. Showers forming in the Midlands and eastern England in the afternoon with showers and a brisk wind in northern and western Scotland. Highs at 8 to 13C.
 

Monday 26/3/18
Pressure stays fairly slack and low overall through Monday. There could be some showers in more southern areas, although staying dry to the north with some sunny spells. Highs at 8 to 12C.

Tuesday 27/3/18
Tuesday may become a more unsettled day as low pressure develops close to the UK and Ireland. This brings some cloud and rain with it, most in more northern areas. Breezy too. Highs at 9 to 12C.

Wednesday 28/3/18
Uncertainty in how the pattern develops into Wednesday although there is an expectation that the weather gradually becomes more mixed and cooler in the second half of the week. Highs at 8 to 12C.
