More unsettled into the weekend and next week, mild to the south, cooler north

The weather is likely to become more mixed into the weekend and then fairly unsettled for a time. As the jet stream develops over southern parts of Ireland and the UK it will be these areas which are likely to be wettest. Temperatures close to normal in the south, although Scotland and northern England tending to remain on the cooler side of the et stream and hence will have lower temperatures.

Friday 9/3/18
Low pressure is again in control of conditions across the UK and Ireland on Friday. Wet weather arrives in the far south of England and Wales during the day, the rain becoming steadier towards evening. Drier for most other areas with some sunny spells, although there may just be an odd wintry showers over the western Highlands and southern Uplands. Feeling slightly cooler with temperatures at 4 to 8C and a southeast breeze picking up in the south.


Saturday 10/3/18
Low pressure to the southwest of the the UK and ireland pushes rain areas north through England and Wales on Saturday, bringing a wet day. heavy showers and milder weather follow into southern England although southern Ireland remains damp all day. Scotland and the far north of England should be dry. Highs at 13C in southern England, a chilly 3 to 5C across northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.


Sunday 11/3/18
The area of low pressure brings a mixed day. Showers or longer spells of rain rotating around the low, some of them heavy and thundery at times. Temperatures at 5C in northern Scotland, 10 to 13C in most other areas.

 
 
 


Monday 12/3/18
Low pressure is going to in control again on Monday. This brings further mixed or unsettled weather with outbreaks of rain or showers at times. Detail and timing of rainfall is hard to place at the present time. It is likely to be a cooler day for all with the risk of some snow on Scottish Hills and snow showers over high ground of northern England. Highs at 4 to 8C.


Tuesday 13/3/18
The risk of some more persistent rain in the southern half of the UK and Ireland on Tuesday. Low pressure remains in control with the southwest flow allowing the rain to affect southern areas and for mild weather here too. Further north it stays chilly with a mix of sunny spells and showers, wintry on hills. Highs at 5C in Scotland, 12C in southern England.

Wednesday 14/3/18
Another area of low pressure to the southwest of Ireland on Wednesday. This pushes rain northwards through much of Ireland, Wales and England, heaviest in the west. Probably drier in Scotland. Highs at 6 to 12C.
