Unsettled next week with strong winds and heavy showers or rain

Conditions are going to be feeling much fresher for all during the coming week, although there will still be some warm days. The weekend will be breezy with some showers, most in Scotland. next week looks set to become more widely unsettled with rain, showers and strong winds as low pressure takes hold. Turning colder later in the week too.

Sunday 25/6/17
The area of low pressure swings to the east of Scotland on Sunday. A slacker pressure flow further south. Breezy in Scotland with showers in the north and west, some of them heavy and rather cloudy here too. Brighter for England, Wales and most of Ireland with sunny spells, although morning showers are likely in northwest England and north Wales. Northern Ireland may see some showers until early afternoon. Thicker cloud arrives in western Ireland in the morning with rain here during Sunday afternoon. Highs at 14 to 22C.

Monday 26/6/17
Low pressure is expected to be over Ireland on Monday. This is going to be bringing some heavy bursts of rain into Ireland and the west of the UK. Eastern areas are likely to be drier, although rain arrives here later in the day. Breezy in the west too. Highs at 24C in southeast England, 19C in Ireland and 15C in northern Scotland.
 

Tuesday 27/6/17
Low pressure is expected to be centred over the UK and Ireland on Tuesday. This brings periods of rain and showers to most. The rain is most likely in northern and eastern areas with heavy showers following to the west. Highs at 12 to 15C in the north and west, perhaps to 22C in any sunshine in central and eastern areas.
 

Wednesday 28/6/17
An area of low pressure is going to be centred over the UK on Wednesday. This brings another unsettled day with rain and showers for many. Some of the showers could be heavy and thundery at times. Highs at 14 to 19C.

Thursday 29/6/17
Low pressure remains close by through Thursday. There will be further rain and showers for many. The showers may be heavy and thundery at times. Highs at cooler 12 to 17C in strong northwest winds for many.

Friday 30/6/17
Low pressure drifts east on Friday bringing another showery day. It is likely to be cold too with the showers being heavy at times. Highs at 12 to 16C.
